Thursday 4x4: Counsell Brings a Rockies History to Town
Craig Counsell, an original Rockies draft choice traded to the Marlins in July of 1995, comes to Coors Field as the manager of the Brewers for a four-game weekend series. He is one of five former Rockies who have become a big-league manager. Scott Servais of the Mariners is the only other current manager who played for the Rockies.

Ryan Braun is the face of the Brewers franchise. He, however, has seen his offensive production decline in recent years. He has appeared in only 33 games so far this season, but his batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS are all lower than he has compiled in any previous season in his career.
Brewers Braun Battling to Survive
If misery really does love company, the Rockies should welcome the Brewers to Coors Field for a four-game series this weekend. The Brewers have been shutout an MLB-leading seven times this season -- four more times than the Rockies.

The Rockies already have been shutout twice at Coors Field, and they have played only 14 of 81 scheduled games at home. They have been shutout more than twice in a home game -- including the 1993 and 1994 seasons at Mile High Stadium -- only six times in their first 25 years of existence.
