Rockies Relievers Squandering Inheritance

It's not just the ERA of the relievers that is rising, but it is the number of runners who are on base when the reliever enters the game and then scores.

The Rockies lead the major leagues in allowing 42.2 percent of runners on base when a reliever enters a game to score.

They are having problems at home, but then Coors Field is the whipping boy for the modern-day analytics folks, who seem to readily accept pitcher friendly environments, but have the hair go up on their necks at the idea of a park being hitter-friendly.

The road, however, has not been a safe haven for the Rockies relievers, who are allowing inherited runners to score at only a marginally higher rate than when they are at home.
