D-Backs Take the 3rd; Go Downtown at Coors Field

Rockies pitcher German Marquez found himself in the club record book Friday night -- for all the wrong reasons.

Marquez gave up three home runs in the third inning, the 20th time that has happened to a Rockies pitcher, the first time since Scott Oberg was a three-time victim of the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in the bottom of the sixth on April 19, 2015.

Mark Thompson was a three-time victim, the only Rockies pitcher to give up three home runs in an inning more than once. Friday was the 16th time out of the 20 that the event occurred in Denver, the 14th at Coors Field. It happened twice at Mile High Stadium, in 1993, the Rockies first season.
