Rockies, Diamondbacks to Play 2 Spring Training Games in Mexico

The Rockies and Diamondbacks will play two spring trianing games (March 9-10) in Monterrey, Mexico as part of a pacakge of six games that MLB will stage in Monterrey during the 2019 season. In addition to the spring training games with the Rockies and Diamondbacks, Monterrey will host regular-season games between the Cardinals and Reds April 13-14, and the Angels and Astros May 4-5.

The Rockies played the Padres in Monterrey on Opening Day 1999, the first time a regular-season opener had been played in a country outside of the United States and Canada. The two teams also played in Culiacan, Mexico, in the spring of 2001.

The Spring Training games in Monterrey will be the first of the 2019 international campaign, which will also include games in Tokyo, Japan and London, England.
