Friday By Comparison: Marquez Makes His Mark
German Marquez was dominating on Thursday night in San Diego, putting together his best start in his nearly two big-league seasons. It wasn't good enough, though. The Rockies lost, 3-2, in 13 innings. Marquez, however, did his part.
He allowed only two hits and two runs, and while walking only one batter he struck out 13, equaling the third highest strikeout total in franchise history.

Tyler Anderson also did it twice, and Jon Gray once. The Rockies have had a starter work more than seven innings only 10 times this season. They are 7-3 in those games, the starting pitcher receiving a no-decision in the three losses.
