By Comparison: Greinke Has No Way to Close the Book on Story

Diamondbacks right-hander Zack Greinke is one of the premiere pitchers in MLB. Rockies shortstop Trevor Story doesn’t seem concerned. Story doubled home a run against Greinke on Tuesday night.

It added to what has been a career of success against Greinke. Story has hit five home runs off Story, tied with Carlos Gonzalez and Jason Giambi for the most home runs Greinke has given up to a hitter in his career. Story also is the all-time RBI leader against Greinke with 12.

Greinke’s Challenges

The Rockies 79-65 record equals the second best in franchise history after 144 games, tied with the 2017 and 2010 seasons. It is one of nine times in the franchise’s 26 years that it has had a winning record after 144 games.
