Monday by Comparison: Sizing Up the Stretch Run in NL West
The stretch run is going to be interesting in the NL West.
The Dodgers, in first-place by a half game over the Rockies and full game over the D-Backs, have 25 games remaining, split between nine at home and 16 on the road. They have the edge in "strength of schedule" with three games at home with the Mets, three at home with the Padres, and three at Cincinnati, finally ending the regular season with three at San Francisco. But they will be spending most of the race to the post-season living out of a suitcase.
The D-backs and Rockies, however, have the home-field advantage, with the Rockies having a slight edge on the Rockies.
The D-backs have 15 home, 10 road, including two at home with the Padres, and three on the road with the Padres.
The Rockies have 17 remaining at home and nine on the road, and have a home and a road series with the Giants, who are finished with the D-Backs and Dodgers.

The Rockies control their own chances of winning the NL West. They have six games left with the Dodgers -- three home and three road -- and seven games with the Diamondbacks -- four home and three road.
Outside of the NL West, the only wild-card contenders remaining on their schedule are the Phillies and Nationals, who are visitors to Coors Field the final week of the regular season. First the Phillies are in town and then the Nationals visit Coors Field the final weekend of the season.
The Rockies have won more games through 136 games than all but one of their previous 25 years. They open a 10-game homestand Monday against the Giants (three games), Dodgers (three games) and D-backs (four games). They played 17 of their final 26 games at Coors Field.
