The Rockies had their chances on Friday night, but couldn't cash in with clutch situations. They were 1-for-9 with a runner in scoring position -- an RBI single by newly-added Drew Butera providing one of the Rockies two runs.

They wound up with a 4-2 loss to the Dodgers, which cut the Rockies NL West lead on the Dodgers to a half-game, and allowed the third-place Diamondbacks pull within 1 1/2 games.

The Rockies are 6-11 this season when have one or no hits with a runner in scoring position in games in which they had at least nine at-bats with the runner in scoring position. Interestingly, though they are 4-4 in the last eight. They lost seven consecutive such games during the stretch from April 28 through July 10.
