CSU's Hillyer Claims MW Volleyball Weekly Award for 2nd time in 3 Weeks

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State’s Kirstie Hillyer earned her second MW Offensive Player of the Week award in three weeks, and it fifth all-time. San José State’s Luiza Andrade won the defensive player award for the fourth time.

Hillyer, a junior middle blocker, led Colorado State to road victories over Utah State and Boise State, bringing the Rams within one victory of clinching their 15th regular season Mountain West championship and 20th overall. She led CSU with a team-best 28 kills, while hitting .449 and recording 10 blocks for the week.

Against Boise State she had 19 kills and a .607 hitting percentage, along iwht four blocks.

 Andrade, a senior from Rio de Janeiro, averaged 5.29 digs, 2.00 assists and 0.29 service aces per set as the Spartans, defeated Nevada and Air Force. She recored at least 20 digs for the ninth time this season in the three-set win over Air Force. She also had eight assists and a service ace against the Falcons.

In the win at Nevada, she had 17 digs and six assists.

Her 1,599 career digs ranked 10th all-time in the MW.
