Cowgirls Edmonds Claims MWC Honor

Cowgirl junior sprinter Jordan Edmonds was named the Mountain West Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced Wednesday. Edmonds posted a time of 24.02 seconds in the 200 meters at the Arkansas Qualifier last weekend, the second fasted in Wyoming history.

The school record of 23.71 was set by Jessica Fox in 2004.

Edmonds’ time was the third fastest in the MWC, behind Ashley Henderson of San Diego State and Drea Austin of UNLV.

The three will face off this weekend in the conference championship.

Edmonds, a native of Colorado Springs, also won the MWC award the second week of December after winning the 55-meter dash at the Power Meet in Laramie.
