Cowboys Murdock 3 Under in Arizona NIT 1st Round

TUCSON -- Junior John Murdock carded a three-under-part 69 on Sunday to help Wyoming to a 10th place slot in the first round of the Arizona NIT golf Tournament at OMNI Tucson National. The event was halted in the middle of the second round because of darkness.

Senior Drew McCullough recorded an opening round score of one-under par 71 after shooting three-under on his final three holes. He eagled the par-five second hole.

Senior Arron Lickteig also recorded an eagle on the second hole, highlighting his round of 73 (+1). Senior Quintin Pope put in Wyoming’s fifth counting score with a card of 77 (+5). Senior Glenn Workman shot an opening round 78 (+6). Sophomore Dan Starzinski, playing as an individual, recorded a round of 75 (+3).

After the first round, Murdock was tied for 14th. McCullough was tied for 31st, with Lickteig tied for 50th and Starzinski tied for 68th. Pope is tied for 83rd, just ahead of Workman tied for 86th.

As a team, the Cowboys notched a score of 290 (+2) in their first round, good for 10th place in the 16-team field.
