Cowgirls Clinch Top 3 Spot for MWC Tourney

The Cowgirls are in charge. They are tied for first place with UNLV, but hold the tiebreaker edge, meaning if the Cowgirls win out -- at Air Force Tuesday and home against Boise State on Friday -- they will have the No. 1 seed in the MWC tournament.

They, however, are assured of at least a top three finish, meaning they will have a bye in Day 1 of the Women's MWC Tournament, which opens on March 5.

The Cowgirls go into their regular season having already equaled a school record with 13 conference wins, and having claimed the 11th 20-win season in history, their ninth in 15 years with Joe Legerski as the coach.
