Cowgirls Stumble at Air Force, Still a Win From No. 1 Seed

The Cowgirls find themselves in a three-way tie for the MWC lead after a 57-47 loss at Air Force on Tuesday night, but it's not as much uncertainty as it may seem. The Cowgirls may be tied with Boise State and Air Force atop the MWC standings, but they also are one win away from ending the regular season with the top seed in the MWC tournament.

Here's the deal: The Cowgirls host Boise State on Friday night. The winner of the game claims the No. 1 seed. UNLV may be technically tied for the MWC lead, but the Rebels lose the tiebreaker to both Wyoming and Boise State.

Boise Rallied for a 64-53 victory against Air Force on Tuesday to move into that tie at the top of the MWC.

The Cowgirls know one thing: for them to have a chance to win they are going to need Liv Roberts able to play. Roberts missed Tuesday's game with an illness, and the absence of the Cowgirls leader in scoring and rebounds was apparent.

The Cowgirls scored only six points in the first quarter. They finished with Taylor Rusk and Clara Tapia scoring 10 points apiece, and Bailee Cotton with 10 rebounds along with six points. Sladjama Rakovic, with six points, scored the only point for the bench.
