Salt River opens AFL Play with 10-8 Victory; Josh Fuentes Triples
The Salt River Rafters, which features Rockies prospects on the roster, opened the Arizona Fall League with a 10-8 victory against Surprise on Tuesday. Josh Fuentes was 1-for-5 with a triple, run scored and RBI, and Sam Hilliard was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a triple.
Rockies prospect Ryan Castellani started and allowed three runs on four hits and a walk, striking out three in three innings. Jesus Tinoco was the one Rockies pitching prospect who turned in a strong effort, working two shutout innings in relief of Castellani, allowing one hit. Mitch Horacek was charged with a blown save, giving up two runs on three hits in two-third of an inning. Justin Lawrence worked the ninth, allowing two runs on three hits.
