Rockies Minor League Rosters Set

With the minor league season scheduled to open later this week, the Rockies have set the rosters for their four-full season minor league teams.

AAA Albuquerque Isotopes

 

David Dahl, rebounding from a year that was basically wasted because of a stress reaction in his rib cage, heads up the 2018 Opening Day roster for the Isotopes.

Dahl, the 10th player taken overall in the 2012 draft, is the only first-round draft choice on the roster.

AA Hartford

 

Hartford will have four of the Rockies top eight prospects, according to Baseball America, including No. 1 Brendan Rodgers, an infielder. Other top eight ranked players are right-handed pitchers Peter Lambert (No. 5) and Ryan Castellani (No. 6) and infielder Garrett Hampson (No. 8).

High A Lancaster  

Third baseman Colton Welker, ranked the fourth best prospect in the Rockies organization by Baseball America, and infielder Tyler Nevin, ranked No. 10, are among the players assigned to the Jethawks for the start of the 2018 season.

The son of former big leaguer Phil Nevin became the first Low-A Asheville player ever to win a Player of the Month Award after totaling 44 hits last May. Other 2018 JetHawks ranked by Baseball America in the Rockies' top-30 are outfielder Forrest Wall (No. 18), RHP Reid Humphreys (No. 26) and 2017 South Atlantic League Midseason All-Star OF Vince Fernandez (No. 27).

LOW A Asheville

Right-hander Riley Pint, the Rockies top draft choice in 2016 and No. 3-ranked prospect in the organization, will return for a second season with the Tourists. Ben Bowden, the Rockies second round pick in 2016 and missed the 2017 season with an injury, will also be on the Tourists' pitching staff.
