Farm Report April 12: Estevez Strong Rehab Showing
Right-hander Carlos Estevez, who was sidelined after his first appearance in the spring with an oblique strain, is healthy and a week into a rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque. Estevez made his third appearnces for the Isotopes on Wednesday, working a 1-2-3 inning.
In his three appearances he has worked three innings, struck out three and given up one hit -- a solo home run.
In Wednesday's Games:
Triple A Albuquerque (5-2) won 17-11 vs. Las Vegas. Drew Weeks hit his first two home runs, Tom Murphy added his third home run and Raimel Tapia had a three-run inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the second that turned a 7-6 Isotopes lead into 10-6. D.J. Johnson struck out five in two innings of relief to earn the victory.
Double A Hartford (1-6) won 3-1 vs. Richmond. Ryan Castellani (1-0, 2.53) allowed one run on three hits and a walk, striking out five in six innings. Castellani retired the side in order in four innings. Sam Hilliard hit a two-run home run in the second inning, and Yonathan Daza tripled home a run in the fifth.
High A Lancaster (4-3) lost 18-6 to San Jose. Matt Dennis started and allowed nine runs in two innings. Vince Fernandez ran his hitting streak to six games with a home run in the eighth.
A Asheville (1-6) lost 6-4 at Kannapolis to complete its season-opening, seven-game road trip. four of the six losses have been by one or two runs. Taylor Snyder had two triples and two RBI. Breiling Eusebio started and allowed one run on five hits and a walk in four innings. Mike Bunal suffered the loss, allowing two runs in the eighth.
