Wednesday Farm Report: Strong-Armed Prep Possible Rockies Draft
The Rockies have the 22nd selection in the first-year player draft, which will be held June 4-6. Drafting that far down, there are a lot of variables to take into consideration, but in an early projection, Baseball America has the Rockies selecting right-handed pitcher Kumar Rocker of North Oconee High School in Bogart, Ga., with the 22nd pick.
Rocker has a power arm, and size -- 6-foot-5, 250 pounds. And at a Perfect Game event last June he was registering 98 miles per hour on radar guns. Rocker has a full-ride offer to Vanderbilt.
