Farm Report May 4: Big Names = Big Numbers in AA Eastern League

There are sons of big-name players making an impact in the Double-A Eastern League. Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., son of the Hall of Fame outfielder, is second in the league with a .388 average, and leads the league with 27 RBI.

Cavan Biggio, son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, is third in the league with 19 RBI and 10th with a .320 average. Bo Bichette, son of Dante, is 11th in the league with a .306 average.

Brendan Rodgers, the Rockies top-rated prospect, is fifth in the EL with 16 RBI.

In Thursday's Games 

AAA Albuquerque (12-16) lost 8-3 at Tacoma. Derek Gibson did have two triples, giving him a PCL-leading six. Mike Tauchman singled, extending his hitting streak with the Isotopes to 15 games, dating back to Aug. 27 last year. 

AA Hartford (14-12) won 5-4 at Portland. Scott Griggs worked 1 1/3 innings in relief for the win, and Matt Pierpont earned his league-leading eighth save. Sam Hilliard capped a three-run eighth by singling home Garrett Hampson. Chris Rabago doubled home the first run run of the inning, and scored the second.

High A Lancaster (15-13) won 11-4 at Stockton. Roberto Ramos hit a two-run home run in the first, and wound up 8-for-16 with a double, triple and three home runs in the four game series. Colton Welker singled to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. 

A Asheville (8-17) lost 3-2 in 10 innings at Charleston. Garrett Schilling worked the first seven innings, allowing one run on three hits. He struck out nine.
