Wednesday Farm Report: Tough Day Down on the Rockies Farm

Tough day for the Rockies minor league teams.

Three teams were off -- High A Lancaster, Rookie Grand Junction and Dominican Summer League South.

Two teams were rained out -- Double-A Hartford, and Dominican Summer League Northeast.

And the three other teams lost -- Triple-A Albuquerque, Low-A Asheville, and Short-Season A Boise.

In Tuesday's Games

AAA Albuquerque (45-50) lost 8-2 at El Paso. Daniel Castro (.337) was 3-for-4 with a double and RBI. Brett Oberholtzer (4-8, 6.28) allowed six runs, five earned, on seven hits and two walks, striking out five in six innings. He is 0-3 in his last four starts, the Isotopes losing all four games.

AA Hartford (45-47) was postponed against Reading because of rain.

High A Lancaster (14-12 2nd half; 47-49) was off.

Low A Asheville (14-10 2nd half; 41-52) lost 5-2 at Greensboro. Sean Bouchard (.255) was 2-for-3, driving in both runs. Lucas Gilbreath (4-6, 5.11) allowed three runs on four hits and a walk, striking out seven, in five innings.

Short-season A Boise (18-14) lost 6-5 in 10 innings at Hillsboro. Pearson McMahan (3.82) started and worked six shutout innings, allowing six hits and two walks, and striking out six. Eric Hepple (4.63) gave up three runs in the ninth, including a two-run home run to Joey Rose. Colton Pate (1-1, 7.36) allowed three runs, one earned, without retiring a batter in the ninth. Daniel Jipping (.264) was 2-for-4 with three RBI, and Terrin Vavra (.386) was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Rookie Grand Junction (14-17) was off.

Dominican Summer League South (15-22) was off.

Dominican Summer League North East (20-15) was postponed by rain for the second day in a row.
