Lambert Bids Hartford Aideu with Eastern League Player of Month Award
Rockies pitching prospect Peter Lambert was so dominating at Double-A Hartford the Rockies promoted him to Triple-A Albuquerque at the start of July.
How dominant was he?
Well, dominant enough that he was selected the Class AA Eastern League Player of the Month for June.
Lambert went 5-0 in five starts for the Hartford Yard Goats in June, compiling a 1.16 ERA and pitching at least seven innings in every start. He allowed one run in each of the starts, and walked only three batters in 38 2.3 innings.
He didn't lose his touch, either. He debuted for the Isotopes on July 4, allowing two runs in six innings in a victory against Tacoma.
Lambert, 21, was the Rockies second-round draft choice out of San Dimas (Ca.) High School in June of 2015. He is considered the No. 1 pitching prospect in the Rockies organization.
