Triple-A Leagues and Double-A Eastern League All-Star Games Wednesday
Shortstop Brendan Rodgers, the Rockies No. 1 ranked prospect, and four other members of the Rockies Double-A Hartford affiliate, will take part in the Eastern League All-Star Game in Trenton, N.J., on Wednesday.
Pitcher Peter Lambert also was selected for the team, but has since been promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque.
The Eastern League All-Star Game, and the Triple-A All-Star Game that has the Pacific Coast League team playing the International League team at Columbus, Ohio, will both be played Wednesday. Both leagues began a three-day break in the league schedule Monday.
In addition to Lambert, the Eastern League East team will include Hartford closer Matt Pierpont, reliever Mitch Horacek, and outfielders Yonathan Daza and Sam Hilliard. Three names familiar to baseball fans from the New Hampshire roster also are on the East roster -- infielders Bo Bichette, son of Dante, Cavan Biggo, son of Craig, and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., son of Valdimir.
Former Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, who is playing for the Mets' Binghamton affiliate, is on the West team.
Reliever D.J. Johnson, third baseman Josh Fuentes and outfielder Mike Tauchman represent the Rockies Triple-A Albuquerque in the Triple-A All-Star Game.
