Sunday Farm Report: Isotopes No No-No, Foiled in the 9th, Again

Triple-A Albuquerque came within three outs of the first no-hitter in Isotopes history on Saturday night, the second time this season the team has reached the ninth inning looking for the historic moment and came up short.

Garrett Stubbs (.318) led off the bottom of the ninth for Fresno with a double off Scott McCough, the fifth Isotopes pitcher. McCough retired the next three batters to finish off a 10-0 Albuquerque victory.

At Tacoma, on May 1, the Isotopes saw another no-hitter bid disappear when Ian Miller led off the bottom of the ninth with a single off D.J. Johnson, who finished up with the save in the 3-1 victory. Jeff Hoffman pitched the first 5 1/3 innings of that game.
