Tuesday Farm Report: No. 1 Prospect Rodgers Slowed by Hamstring Strain

Shortstop Brendan Rodgers, ranked the No. 1 prospect in the Rockies system by Baseball America, is having to deal with challenges at the Triple-A level that he has not faced in his career.

Rodgers, the third player taken overall in the 2015 draft, was recently promoted from Double-A Hartford to Triple-A Albuqeruque, but in the fifth inning of his eight game, last Thursday at Fresno, Rodgers came out of the game because of hamstring tightness.

The hamstring issue is not considered serious, but has not been in the lineup the last four games. Rodgers, a career .292 hitter in his four minor-league seasons, hit .226 with two doubles and two RBI in his first eight games.

Matt Holliday Watch: Holliday was 2-for-4 with a run scored and walk n Monday's loss to Tacoma. He is hitting .265 with two home runs and nine RBI since joining the Isotopes.
