Tuesday Farm Report: NW League Vs. Pioneer League All-Star Game Tonight

Left-handed reliever Reagan Biechler, who was an All-State selection at Pine Creek High School, is among eight players from the Rockies short-season teams who will participate in the Rookie Pioneer League vs. Short-Season A Northwest League All-Star Game at Grand Junction on Tuesday night.

Biehcler, first baseman Grant  Lavigne, shortstop Coco Montes, outfielder Niko Decolati, and right-handed pitcher Alexander Martinez are on the Pioneer League roster, representing the Rockies Grand Junction affiliate. Shortstop Terrin Vavra, third baseman Danny Edgeworth, and left fielder  Daniel Jipping are on the Northwest League roster, representing the Boise Hawks.

-- Biechler, a 31st round draft choice out of Wichita State a year ago, is 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA out of the bullpen with Grand Junction.

-- Lavigne, the Rockies Competitive Balance selection after the first round this year, is hitting .360 with five home runs and 31 RBI at Grand Junction.

--Montes, the Rockies 15th-round selection in the June draft out of South Florida, is leading the Pioneer League with a .382 average. HE has seven home runs and 29 RBI.

--Decolati, the Rockies sixth-round draft choice out of Loyola Marymount, was born in Boulder, but grew up in Las Vegas. His father was a walk-on, who played baseball one year at the University of Northern Colorado. He is hitting .331 with a Grand Junction-leading 37 RBI.

--Jipping, the Rockies 22nd-round draft choice a year ago out of Central Michigan, leads Boise with seven hen home runs, and is hitting .287.

--Edgeworth, a 23rd-round draft out of Mercer a year ago, is hitting .264 with 30 RBI for Boise.

--And Vavra, the Rockies' third-round selection out of Minnesota in June, is hitting .307. His father Joe is the quality control coach of the Detroit Tigers, and former bench coach of the Minnesota Twins.

In Monday's Games

AAA Albuquerque (53-61) lost 7-2 to New Orleans. Garrett Hampson was 2-for-4 with a run scored, walk and his 15th stolen bases for the Isotopes and 35th overall stolen base this season. Jordan Patterson (.272) hit his team-high 20th home run. Peter Lambert (2-3, 4.71) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks, striking out six in 5 1/3 innings.

AA Hartford (52-59) was off.

High A Lancaster (27-17 2nd half; 60-54) was off.

Low A Asheville (22-20 2nd half; 49-62) was off.

Short-season A Boise (4-9 2nd half; 25-26) was off.

Rookie Grand Junction (8-4 2nd half; 28-22) was off.

Dominican Summer League South (19-36) lost 6-2 at Cardinals Blue. Catcher Jose Cordova (.276) was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Felix Ramires (1-3, 3.41) allowed three runs, one earned, on four hits and five walks, striking out three.

Dominican Summer League (38-16) extended it's winning streak to 12 games with a 13-2 victory over Royals2. Juan Toribio (4-1, 3.42) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk, striking out nine. Steve Fana (.283) hit a grand slam, his sixth home run. Walking Cabrera (.242) was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI.
