Grand Junction Opens Pioneer League Playoffs With Win at Ogden

OGDEN, Utah -- Grand Junction stunned  Ogden with a six-run ninth inning, and escaped with an 8-5 victory in the opening game of the best-of-three first-round playoff game in the Rookie Pioneer League.

Catcher Javier Guevara drove in three runs, and second-round draft pick Grant Lavigne was 2-for-4, scoring two runs.

Game 2 will also be played in Ogden, but in a worst-case scenario Grand Junction would get to play a win-or-go-home Game 3 at home.

Ryan Feltner started Game 1 and gave up two runs on three hits and three walks, striking out three, in three innings. Reagan Biechler worked 1 2/3 innings for the win. Alexander Martinez worked the ninth to earn the save.
