Lancaster Struggles at Rancho Cucamonga Continue in Playoffs
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Ca. -- Rancho Cucamonga found revenge against Lancaster in the High-A California League playoffs.
After being eliminated in the post-season each of the last two years by the Rockies affiliate, Rancho Cucamonga rebounded from a loss in Game 1 of the best-of-five series at Lancaster last week to win the next three games, including an 8-1 clincher on Saturday night, and eliminated Lancaster this time.
It was not a total surprise, however, in light of the fact the back-to-back losses in the final two games at Rancho Cucamonga left the JetHawks with a 2-13 record at Rancho Cucamonga in 2018, including 2-11 in the regular season.
Logan Longwith suffered the loss, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks, striking out two in 3 2/3 innings. Colton Welker singled home the JetHawks only run in the fifth inning.
Cody Thomas, the Dodgers' 13th round draft choice out of the University of Oklahoma in 2014, led Rancho Cucamonga, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI.
