Bohl Era Bringing National Respect to Cowboys

Josh Allen won't be back taking snaps from center for the Cowboys in 2018.

He is going to be making a living in the NFL, an expected first-round selection in the upcoming NFL draft.

The Cowboys, however, aren't being written off on a national basis.

SB Nation has made its "too early" projections of how the college football teams rank, and the Cowboys come out with the second highest rating in the MW Mountain Division behind only Boise State, and fourth overall. Fresno State and San Diego State also had higher ranks among the 130 Division I football teams.

Boise State is rated No. 26 overall, the second highest for a non-P 5 school. Central Florida is rated No. 17.

The Cowboys come in at No. 72, five spots ahead of Utah State, and 23 ahead of Colorado State, the next highest ranked MW teams, which also happen to be in the Mountain Division.

A bit surprising is the projection of Air Force having the lowest ranking in the MW Mountain at 112 points, but the Falcons are ahead of MW West teams Hawaii (122) and San Jose State, which at 129th ranks ahead of only UTEP among the 130 Division I football teams.

Ohio State is No. 1
