FORT COLLINS – Wyoming women’s golfer Megan Knadler tied her career low single-round score to take 13th individually at the season-opening Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic Wednesday afternoon at Ptarmigan Country Club.
The Cowgirls as a team finished 13th at 54-over for the week.
“I’m very proud of Megan and her play (Wednesday),” head coach Josey Stender said. “She played so very steady and calculated all round. Unfortunately, we are disappointed with our finish considering our solid start. We are a much better team than we showed (Wednesday).”
Knadler saved her best round of the week for last with a 2-under 70 to wrap up the event in a tie for 13th with a 4-over, 54-hole total of 220 (76-74-70). The senior dropped in five birdies to only three bogeys on the day, including three birdies on the front nine. Knadler’s round ties for ninth in the school record book for low individual round score.
Erin Sargent wrapped up her week with an 80 in the event’s final round. The Cowgirl junior finished the week with a 14-over 230 (76-74-80) in a tie for 44th. Kaylee Knadler also tallied an 80 for her third round. The redshirt junior tied for 52nd overall with a three-round 232 (73-79-80).
Caitlyn Skavdahl and Samantha Hui rounded out the Cowgirl lineup at 70th and 72nd, respectively, in the final standings. Skavdahl finished with a 24-over 240 (76-79-85), while Hui finished at 244 (84-79-81).
