Road Woes Continue for Rockies, Headed Home After Reds Sweep

Well, at least the Rockies are playing in Coors Field this week.

That’s refreshing after another road trip gone bad.

Think about it. The Rockies are a respectable 20-14 at Coors Field. On the road? Well, they are now 5-27 after a 1-5 road trip to Miami (1-2) and Cincinnati (0-3).

And it came to an end with a 6-2 loss at Cincinnati on Sunday in a game that underscored the Rockies road woes. Raimel Tapia scored in the first inning on a Charlie Blackmon sacrifice fly, and Ryan McMahon delivered his 15th home run of the season with nobody on base in the seventh.

It is not that the Rockies didn’t have chances. They went 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position.

The Rockies upcoming homestand will feature a three-game visit by the Padres Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and then a four-game series with Milwaukee.

Take a look at the highlights (or low lights if you prefer) from Sunday’s game in Cincinnati.
