Odds Are: Red Sox Favored to Win World Series
The Boston Red Sox have emerged as the favorite to win the World Series for the first time this season, according to www.bovada.lv.
The Red Sox odds improved from 5-to-1 on Aug. 1 to 7-to-2, moving them ahead of both the Astros and Dodgers. The Astros and Dodgers were both at 9-to-2 odds to win the world championships on Aug. 1. The Astros, the defending world champions, are now 4-to-1, and the Dodgers, losers to the Astros in seven games last October, are 6-to-1.
The Rockies saw their odds go from 22-to-1 to 40-to-1, which has them 14th. among the teams ahead of them are the Dodgers, who are in third place in the NL West, percentage points behind the second-place Rockies, and Diamondbacks, who have 1 1/2-game lead on the second-place Rockies, but are 18-to-1 to win the World Series, which makes them 10th.
