The Rockies won only two of seven games against the Brewers—one of four at Coors Field and one of three in Milwaukee.

In the seven games, Story hit seven home runs and drove in 18 runs, including driving in all four runs in the Rockies 4-0 win on May 12 against the Brewers at Coors Field. He hit home runs of Brent Suter in the first and fifth innings, and had an RBI double in the third.

Despite the problems the Rockies had against the Brewers in 2018, they are 76-71 all-time against Milwaukee, the .517 winning percentage the third highest for the Rockies against an NL team. They have a .569 winning percentage against the Nationals, and .524 against the Padres. The only other NL team the Rockies have a winning record against in their 26 years of existence is Cincinnati (.512).

Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich had an impact second half that has made him the favorite for the NL MVP. Not only did he hit .367 after the All-Star Break, but he also had 25 home runs and 67 RBI.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell was the Rockies 11th round draft choice out of Notre Dame in the 1992 draft, the first one in which the Rockies participated. He, however, appeared in only five games with the Rockies, although he did spend 14 full seasons and parts of two others in the big leagues, including five years with the Brewers.

He grew up around the Brewers. His father John was the franchise’s director of community relations.
