Justin Michael: Hornung To Remain On Medved's Staff

Recently hired Rams basketball coach Niko Medved is quickly filling out a staff for the Colorado State men’s basketball program. Multiple sources confirmed that Pierce Hornung, who played at CSU when Medved was an assistant for Tim Miles, will remain on the staff.

He joins previously announced assistants Ali Farkhmanesh and JR Blount, who were on Medved’s staff at Drake and came with him to the CSU.

Hornung played in 123 games during the four seasons he played for the Rams, and averaged nine points and nine rebounds a game during his junior and senior seasons. He completed his career as the all-time leader in steals with 156 and third in rebounds with 799.

Hornung was hired by former coach Larry Eustachy in 2015 and primarily served as the Director of Player Development. When Eustachy and former associate head coach Steve Barnes were placed on leave in February, Hornung remained on staff with Jase Herl and Willie Glover.

Prior to his coaching days, Hornung completed a degree in finance in 2013 and worked as a loan officer for two years.
