Rams Tennis Team Given Cold Shoulder by Utah State
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State’s tennis team got the cold shoulder from Utah State on Thursday.
Utah State ignored the snow and cold temperatures to take a 5-1 victory in Colorado State’s first home Mountain West match of the season. Doubles matches were only scheduled to be played if needed to break a tie.
Sophomore Alyssa Grijalva improved to a team-leading 11-3 in singles play this spring, defeating Maggie O’Meara on court 3; 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
“We’re proud of how we competed today,” CSU head coach Jarod Camerota said. “We still need to get better but hopefully they take this as a sign that they can compete with anyone in the division.”
CSU will host Boise State at the University Tennis Complex at 10 a.m., Easter Sunday.
