Rams Softball Places 5 on All-MW Softball 2nd team

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado State softball members Haley Donaldson, Bridgette Hutton, Madison Kilcrease, Sarah Muzik and Amber Nelson named to the All-Mountain west second team.

The five honors are the most conference awards for the Rams since 2012.

Donaldson was fifth on the team with a .324 batting average, while also second on the team with 11 doubles, which is tied for ninth in the Mountain West. She also was second on the team slugging .547 and 16th in the conference.

Hutton has been Colorado State’s number one pitcher,working an MW-high 182 1/3 innings. She was 14-11, fourth in the MW in wins. She led CSU with a 3.07 ERA, sixth in the MW. She struck out 123 batters and held opponents to a .239 batting average, both of which rank in the top-5 in the league.

Kilcrease led the Rams with two triples and nine doubles. Her on base mark of .430 ranked 19th in the league and fourth on the team. She drew 22 walks, tied for 14th in the Mountain West.

Muzik leads the team with a .404 batting average, fifth highest in the MWC. She also scored 41 runs (6th), recorded 65 hits (5th) and has an on-base mark of .461 (8th). She is tied for fifth with 15 stolen bases, while being caught just four times.

Nelson hit .342, 19th in the league, and tied for fifth with three triples. Her .451 on-base percentage ranked 12th in the Mountain West. She has also threw out nine batters trying to steal, tied for third among conference schools.
