Rams Softball Adds to More Recruits for 2018-19 School Year

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Taylor GIlmore of Broomfield and Kaitlyn Cook of Lincoln, Neb., committed to play softball for Colorado State, the fifth and sixth additions for the Rams, according to head coach Jen Fisher.

Mackenzee Collins, Brenna Scudellari, Brookelyn Polenz and Makenzie Marie Miller who signed letters of intent in November.

Cook was three-time Class A all-state honorable mention in Nebraska, and was a two-time academic All-American. 

"I came to a camp my junior year of high school and I immediately fell in love with the coaching staff and the team," Cook said. "I felt as if I was at a home away from home. I have always enjoyed traveling to Colorado for my summer softball team and was so happy to have the opportunity to call this amazing place home for the next four years.

Gilmore is trasnfering from Arizona and will be a redshirt freshman. During high school she was a first-team all-state and Front Range Pitcher of the Year as a senior. She led her division with 22 victories, 143 inning pitched, 188 strikeouts and carried a 0.98 ERA with three no-hitters. She was a four-year first-team all-conference player, helping her school to two league championships, three regional championships and a 2016 5A state runner-up finish. At the plate she hit 20 career home runs, including 13 doubles, seven homers and 31 RBI as a senior while slugging 1.342.

"I know a few of the girls on the team from playing against them while growing up," she said. "I am truly excited I get to represent the state I was born and raised in. The campus and area is beyond beautiful and I can’t wait to call Colorado State my home.”
