Cowgirls Soccer Signs 10 High School Players to Letters of Intent

LARAMIE — Wyoming Cowgirl head soccer coach Pete Cuadrado announced the signing of 10 student-athletes to play soccer for the University of Wyoming beginning in the fall. 

“We are very excited to sign this group of incoming players for the fall of 2019,” head coach Pete Cuadrado said.  “They each play at a high level and will continue to push our program forward.  We have been working with this group through the recruiting process for a long time, so to finally be able to put pen to paper for this group is great.  We're looking forward to their contributions.”                                              

The Signees

 

Maria Allen, 5-8, Midfielder, Parker, Colo. (Regis Jesuit HS)

A three-year letterwinner, Allen was named the JV Defensive MVP in 2017. She is a member of the Colorado Rapids ECNL Team. An excellent student, she was a First Team Academic All-State selection. She is the daughter of George and Sharon Allen. She has four siblings. 

 

Katelyn Barner, 5-3, Midfielder, Highlands Ranch, Colo. (ThunderRidge HS)

A four-time letterwinner, as a junior she was an All-Continental League and All-State selection. This season, she was named a team captain. She is a member of the Real Colorado ECNL Team. An excellent student, she was an Academic All-American honoree. Barner is the daughter of David and Marci Barner. She has one brother, Eric.

Hannah Hagen, 5-6, Midfielder, Greenwood Village, Colo. (Cherry Creek HS)

A three-year letterwinner, Hagen was a Second Team all-State selection. She is a member of the Colorado Rapids Soccer Club. An excellent student, she has been a member of the honor roll and namedFirst Team Academic All-State. Hagen is the daughter of John and Suzanne Hagen.

 

DeLaney Hallcroft, 5-3, Forward, Gillette, Wyo. (Thunder Basin HS)

A three-year starter and letter winner, she helped her team to a 19-3 overall record and 17-2 regular season mark while leading her team to an East Regional Championship and the Wyoming 4A State Runner Up spot in the spring of 2018. Hallcroft played in all 22 games as a junior and finished with 31 goals, which led the 4A East Conference, and nine assists. For her career, she has recorded 57 goals and 19 assists. She is a two-time All-State selection and three-time All-Conference honoree. She has been a member of the Gillette Soccer Club. The team won the Mayor’s Cup International Showcase and Rocky Mountain Cup, while winning the Desert Classic tournament twice. Hallcroft was also a player with the Croatian Eagles SC in Milwaukee. She is a guest player at the Scott Gallagher College Showcase and the SE College Showcase. An excellent student, she a member of the National Honor Society and has been involved with scholastic and community projects. Hallcroft is the daughter of Russ and Devan Hallcroft. She has two siblings, Zack and Elmejhon.   

 

Faith Joiner, 5-8, Forward, Highland, Calif. (Arrowhead Christian Academy)

A three-year letterwinner, she is a two-time First Team All-Ambassador League selection while earning Second Team All-League as a freshman. She was coached in high school by Dave Clark. Besides soccer, she also lettered in cross country and track and field. Joiner has twice been named First Team All-League in cross country and one time in track and field, while being selected the Cross Country Runner of the Year twice. She has also been named the Athlete of the Year in all three for the past three seasons. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor Society, California Scholastic Federation selection and a Scholar Athlete Highest Honor Award recipient. She plays for the Arsenal ECNL U18 Team as well. Joiner is the daughter of Jay and Jennifer. She has a brother Carter, who is a current member of the Indiana Tech Cross Country Team, and a sister, Noelle.

Sydnie Maiava , 5-7, Midfielder, Ft. Collins, Colo. (Rocky Mountain HS)

A two-year varsity letterwinner while attending Rocky Mountain High School. Maiava helped her team to a city championship her sophomore year and reached the Colorado State semifinals her freshman year. The past two seasons, she has member of the Real Colorado Development Academy and ECNL teams. Maiva heled lead the team to a conference Championship and a spot in the National Development tournament. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Honor Roll and an Academic All-conference selection. She is the daughter of Michael and Tracie Maiva. Has three siblings, Michael, Matthew and Micah.

Sydney Miller, 5-4, Forward, Cheyenne, Wyo. (Cheyenne East HS)

A three-time letterwinner in soccer while attending Cheyenne East High School. A two-time Southeast All-Conference selection, she helped her team to a third place finish as a freshman and a fourth place spot during her sophomore campaign. She has also been the recipient of the Best Offensive Player Award for her team. She plays club soccer for Cheyenne Sting and has been the top scorer the last three seasons. Besides soccer, she has also lettered in cross country and basketball. She was a member of the basketball team that won the 4A State Championship during her sophomore year and the runner up spot last season. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor society, on the Honor Roll and participated at Girls State as a junior. She is the daughter of Kevin and Paul Miller. Has two siblings, Austin and Dylan. 

Tori Parker, 5-3, Forward, Aurora, Colo. (Grandview HS)

A two-time letterwinner in soccer while attending Grandview High School. During her junior year, she helped her team to a 17-0-3 overall record. She was part of the 2018 Class 5A State Championship team that defeated Broomfield 1-0 in overtime. She was coached by Tari Wood. A member of the Colorado Rapids Soccer Club. Parker is the daughter of Don and Daneda. She has two siblings, Taylor and Travis.

Haylee Rice, 5-7, Forward, Fort Mohave, Ariz. (Mohave HS)

Rice has been a member of Heat FC of the ECNL for six seasons. That team won the 2016 Nevada State Championship while finishing in the runner-up spot in 2015. For three years, Rice has been a part of Heat FC 01 ECNL. They were a 2016 Showcase Qualifier and 2017 Champions League Qualifier. She played her freshman season at Mohave High School. Rice helped that team to the state qualifier while leading the team in assists and second in scoring. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor Society and Honor Roll plus an Honors student. Rice is the daughter of Austin and Holly. She has two siblings, Austin and Hunter.

Keelie Wortmann, 5-11, Defender, Aurora, Colo. (Grandview HS)

A two-time letterwinner in soccer, Wortmann helped her team to a 17-0-3 overall record her junior year. She was part of the 2018 Class 5A State Championship team that defeated Broomfield 1-0 in overtime. She was coached by Tari Wood. She is member of the Colorado Rapids ECNL team. Her team were finished in the runner-up spot at the Colorado ODF Region IV tournament in 2014 and reached the semifinals in 2016. She also was on the team that was a finalist at the ECNL North America Cup. An excellent student, she has been a member of the Honor Roll and named Academic All-State. Wortmann is the daughter of Scott and Brijie. She has two siblings, Kade and Reece.
