FORT COLLINS – The Wyoming tennis team won five of seven singles matches on the opening day of the first day of play at the Jon Messick Invite on Friday afternoon.
“We feel the ladies were very professional in how we went about our play in singles and the way we prepared for the day,” head coach Dean Clower said. “In doubles, we are showing glimpses of playing our way. We just need more practice time and video work.”
The Cowgirls won five out of seven matches in singles action to begin the day. Maria Oreshkina defeated Rafa Mora, 6-1, 6-2, followed by Mihaela Kaftanova with a straight set win, 7-6, 6-3, against Sandra Keta.
