Cowgirls In Charge Down MWC Hoops Stretch

The Cowgirl’s basketball team held serve in its bid for the MWC regular-season title the last week, remaining tied for the top spot with UNLV, a game ahead of third place Boise State. And the Cowgirls do have the tie breaker against UNLV, beating the Lady Rebels 69-56 Feb. 10 in their only scheduled game of the season.

They have three games remaining – two at home. They host Fresno State at the AA on Saturday, and then host Boise State in their regular-season finale on Friday. On Tuesday they travel to Air Force.

Fresno State is in fourth place in the MWC with an 11-5 record, two games back of the Cowgirls and UNLV. Fresno lost to UNLV 73-58 on Wednesday night.

The Cowgirls trail the all-time series against Fresno 11-19, and suffered a 60-47 loss on Feb. 3 against a Bulldogs team coached by former Joe Legerski assistant Jaime White.
