Hilliard's First HR of Fall Sends Salt River On Road to Victory
Rockies outfield prospect Sam Hilliard (.362) delivered a two-run home run in the third inning, and Salt River built off that enroute to an 8-3 victory against Surprise in the Arizona Fall League on Friday.
Jose Fuentes (.293) went 2-for-4, scored a run and drove in a run. Tyler Nevin (.436) went 0-for-2 with two walks, his first hitless game in the 11 games he has played in the AFL.
Mike Horaceck (10.38) retired two of the seven batters he faced in the ninth, the final two scoring when Jesus Tinoco (2.25) relieved him and gave up a two-run single before striking out Yanio Perez to end the game.
