Chapman Beats out Arenado as Wilson Defensive Player of the Year
Matt Chapman, Nolan Arenado’s understudy in high school, took a step ahead of the mentor on Wednesday. Chapman not only won the Wilson Defensive Third Baseman of the Year honors for 2018, but he was voted the Defensive Player of the Year. Arenado did win the NL Gold Glove at third base, which is sponsored by Rawlings, for the sixth time in his six big-league seasons.
